Robin Maxwell, Principal

I’m Robin Maxwell, principal and art director of Swivel Studio. I’m a graphic designer and creative thinker working out of Seattle, Washington.

Thanks for visiting Swivel Studio! A little about me:

Ethos I’m most driven when working on projects that align with my own values of community, equity, and inclusivity. This doesn’t mean that you have to be a nonprofit for us to be a good fit; It does mean that I want these things to be important to you, too!

Client experience For over two decades, I’ve helped businesses grow through thoughtful design, developing solutions for clients including Accelerator Corporation, Bill & Melinda Gates Agricultural Innovations (Gates Ag One), Dendreon, F5 Networks, First Sound Bank, Gates Notes, Life Science Washington, Microclimates, Pacific Crest Savings Bank, Philips Healthcare, Realtor.com, SightLife, Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Seattle Genetics, TrueBlue Inc., Vera Whole Health, Visit Bellevue Washington, WBBA, Weyerhaeuser, and the YWCA, as well as small neighborhood groups and lesser known Friends.

Process Through each stage of a project — research, strategy, creative ideation, execution and delivery — my goal is to craft visual design solutions that achieve your brand and communication goals, helping you to build the relationships that will sustain and grow your organization or business. I can work solo or integrate seamlessly into a team — I appreciate a great client and love working with other talented folks who are passionate about what they do. I ask questions, I’m curious, and I’m empathetic. I appreciate learning about the worlds of those I’m fortunate to call my clients and their success motivates me. I’m told that things run more smoothly when I’m involved. That I’m easy and fun to work with.

Sweet spots My two great loves are identity creation and event branding, but I’m happy working in a range of formats, for a wide range of sectors — I’ve developed naming and branding, placemaking and environmental graphics, websites, campaigns, and brochures for clients in sectors from banking, biomedical, and technology, to action sports, education, hospitality, and even other creatives. I’ve done a little retail and product work, and most recently I’ve worked with more clients in the ag tech and nonprofit spaces. I’ve dabbled in UX, pitch decks, packaging, book jackets, catalog, wine labels, and social campaigns, and, along with the rest of the world, am discovering the potential of AI, what it means for me as a creative and it’s possibilities in a creative workflow. I’m told I have a knack for understanding complicated concepts and distilling them into easy-to-understand, impactful and actionable messages.
